Somatic Therapy Healing Trauma & Stress through the body

You may have tried to “think your way through” anxiety, stress, or trauma and still feel stuck.

That’s because healing isn’t just about understanding what happened. It’s also about how your nervous system is holding it.

Somatic therapy is a gentle, body-based approach that helps you feel safer, more grounded, and more in control of not just your thoughts, but in your body.

If you’re tired of coping, over-functioning, or feeling disconnected, this work can help you come back to yourself.

Healing doesn’t have to be forceful to be powerful. Sometimes the most lasting change happens when your body finally feels safe enough to let go.

Signs You May Benefit from Somatic Therapy

You might notice:

✦ You feel anxious or on edge, even when nothing is “wrong”

✦ You shut down or go numb during conflict

✦ You overreact and don’t understand why

✦ You struggle to relax

✦ You feel disconnected from your body

✦ You grew up walking on eggshells

✦ You’re burned out & can’t seem to recover

✦ You understand your patterns intellectually, but they keep repeating

You don’t have to have experienced a big, dramatic traumatic event for this work to help. Chronic stress, emotional neglect, medical experiences, relationship wounds can all live in the nervous system.

If you often feel like your body is reacting faster than your brain, somatic therapy can help.

How we might work together

It’s collaborative.
It’s curious.
It’s often surprisingly gentle.
Sometimes we even laugh.

And yes, we talk. A lot.
But we also pay attention to what your body is saying while you talk.

Because real change happens when your nervous system catches up to what your brain already knows.

If you’ve ever thought:
“I understand my issues… so why do I still react this way?”

That’s exactly where somatic therapy shines.

I don’t fix you.
I help your body realize it doesn’t have to stay in survival mode anymore.

And that’s when things start to shift.

Questions About Somatic Therapy?

Meet Holly Lark, Somatic Therapist

Hi, I’m Holly,  a licensed clinical social worker trained in somatic therapy. I help people release trauma, stress and emotions stored in the body by combining physical awareness, movement, and mindfulness with traditional talk therapy. I focus on the mind-body connection to promote emotional healing and self-regulation. I help people make sense of their inner world, especially the parts that feel stuck, overwhelmed, self-critical, or reactive and how those feelings show up in the body.

Together, we learn to listen to these parts instead of fighting them, so your nervous system can settle and real change can happen naturally. Talking helps you understand what’s going on, but lasting relief often comes when the body and nervous system are part of the work too. We go at a pace your system can handle, so insights actually turn into calm, grounded moments, not just awareness.

Lets learn and listen to how your system is communicating to you.
